Heavy Equipment Financing

Construction › Excavators, Skid Steers & Loaders

Excavators, skid steers and loaders are what most construction jobs start with. Since 2011, Sunset Financial Group has financed more than 150 pieces of heavy equipment for excavation, concrete, demolition, residential and heavy construction contractors.

Most of the heavy equipment we finance is used, bought from dealers, auctions and other contractors. Heavy equipment financing lets you add a machine when the work is lined up, instead of renting it job after job.

Heavy Equipment We Finance

Excavators

Full-size crawler excavators from about 20 to 30 tons for site work, utilities and demolition.

Mini Excavators

Compact excavators for residential, utility and tight-access work.

Skid Steers & Track Loaders

Wheeled skid steers and compact track loaders, the machines we finance most, with buckets and attachments.

Wheel Loaders

Wheel loaders for loading trucks, moving material and working stockpiles.

Dozers & Motor Graders

Crawler dozers and motor graders for clearing, grading and road work.

Cranes

Crawler, rough-terrain and truck cranes for lifting on heavy construction jobs.

What We Have Financed

Compact Equipment

About $12,000 to $45,000

Skid steers, compact track loaders and mini excavators.

Mid-Size Machines

About $40,000 to $90,000

Wheel loaders, 20-ton excavators, dozers and motor graders.

Large Machines

Up to about $150,000

Larger excavators and cranes, including a 200-ton crawler crane.

Heavy equipment we have financed ranges from about $12,000 for a used mini excavator or skid steer to about $150,000 for a crawler crane.

Finance the Whole Setup

A machine is only as useful as what goes with it. These can all be included in the same agreement:

  • Buckets, thumbs and quick couplers
  • Breakers, augers, forks and sweeper attachments
  • Equipment and dump trailers to haul it
  • Dump trucks for the same job
  • Shipping and transport from the seller
  • Sales tax and registration

Why Contractors Buy Instead of Renting

Stop Paying Rent Job After Job

If a machine is on rent most of the year, a payment on your own machine often costs less.

Bid More Work

Owning the excavator or loader lets you bid site work you used to sub out.

Ready When the Job Starts

Your own equipment is on the trailer when you need it, not waiting on rental availability.

Heavy Equipment Financing FAQ

Can I finance a used machine from an auction or another contractor?

Yes. Most of the heavy equipment we finance is used, and we finance purchases from dealers, auctions and private sellers.

Can attachments and a trailer be included?

Yes. Buckets, breakers, forks and other attachments, and the trailer to haul the machine, can go on the same agreement.

How much can I be approved for with just an application?

Up to $350,000 with our one-page application. Most compact and mid-size machines fall under that amount, so approvals are usually quick.

What will my monthly payment be?

It depends on the price, term and your credit profile. Use our payment calculator for an estimate, or request a quote for exact numbers.

What terms are available?

Terms range from 12 to 84 months with fixed monthly payments. See our types of leases for $101 buyout, fair market value and other options.
