Reefer Unit Financing
Trucking & Transportation › Reefer Units
A reefer unit keeps produce, meat, dairy and medicine at temperature from pickup to delivery, and when it fails, the load is at risk. Since 2011, Sunset Financial Group has financed more than 50 reefer units and refrigerated trailers for owner-operators and fleets.
Reefer unit financing lets you replace an aging unit before it costs you a load, or add a refrigerated trailer to start hauling temperature-controlled freight.
Refrigeration Equipment We Finance
Trailer Reefer Units
Nose-mounted units for 48- and 53-foot trailers, new or used.
Truck Refrigeration Units
Units for straight trucks and box trucks making local and regional deliveries.
Refrigerated Trailers
Complete reefer trailers with the unit already mounted, from dealers and private sellers.
Replacement Units
A new or newer unit on a trailer you already own, to avoid breakdowns and costly repairs.
Multi-Temperature Units
Units that hold frozen and chilled freight in separate zones of the same trailer.
Used & Rebuilt Units
Used units cost far less than new and still have years of service in them.
What We Have Financed

Reefer units and refrigerated trailers we have financed range from about $6,000 for a used unit to about $30,000 for a new trailer unit.
Finance the Whole Setup
A reefer unit is part of a bigger setup. These can all be included in the same agreement:
- Installation and mounting
- Fuel tanks
- Temperature recorders and tracking
- A refrigerated trailer to go with the unit
- Freight and delivery
Why Carriers Upgrade Their Reefer
Protect the Load
A reliable unit keeps freight at temperature and avoids rejected loads and claims.
Cut Repair Bills
Replacing a worn unit ends the cycle of breakdowns and emergency service calls.
Haul Higher-Paying Freight
Refrigerated loads often pay more per mile than dry freight.
